Entregados por la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas estadounidense (AMPAS), los Oscar son los premios de la industria cinematográfica por excelencia. La gala de entrega de la 89ª edición tendrá lugar el próximo 26 de febrero en el Dolby Theatre de Los Ángeles, y estará presentada por Jimmy Kimmel.

La La Land bate récord y lidera la lista de nominadas con catorce candidaturas. La siguen Arrival y Moonlight con ocho cada una, y Manchester by the Sea con seis.

Isabelle Huppert, Viggo Mortensen, Lucas Hedges, y Efthymis Filippou y Yorgos Lanthimos con el guión de The Lobster, han sido algunas de las sorpresas; Amy Adams, Annette Benning, Joel Edgerton, Jeff Nichols o Martin Scorsese entre las ausencias más llamativas.
