Los European Film Awards son los premios anuales del cine europeo concedidos por la Academia del Cine Europeo desde 1988. La ceremonia de entrega tiene lugar en Berlín, y este año se celebrará el 9 de diciembre.

The Square, presente en cinco categorías, encabeza la lista de nominadas de la 30ª edición de los premios. A la cinta de Ruben Östlund la siguen On Body and Soul, con cuatro nominaciones, y Loveless, The Other Side of Hope, y The Killing of A Sacred Deer, con tres cada una.

Por otro lado, la presencia española se extiende en diferentes categorías: Verano 1993 (Fipresci European Discovery), Los Desheredados y Timecode (Cortometraje), Un monstruo viene a verme (Premio del Público), y la coproducción La Chana (Documental).
